Urgent Care

Urgent Care

We are pleased to share that Down Maine Veterinary Clinic now offers Urgent Care appointments to better serve the needs of pets and families in our community. Our team has always been dedicated to supporting you—not only by keeping pets healthy through preventive and wellness care, but also by being there when they are sick and need us most.

We know how stressful it can be when your beloved pet isn’t feeling well. That’s why we make it easier than ever to get prompt help. Walk-ins are welcome, and same-day sick appointments are available should we have openings that day.

Availability & How It Works

  • Hours: Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Walk-ins welcome — calling ahead is not required but preferred, so we can prepare for your pet
  • Appointments cannot be requested online — please call us directly at (207) 324-4683
  • Triage system in place: the most critical patients are seen first, and we appreciate your patience
  • Check-in: When you arrive, please park in a designated urgent care spot and wait in your vehicle. A team member will give you a call when it’s your turn to come in.
  • No overnight hospitalization: if your pet requires care beyond 24 hours or advanced critical care, we will transfer them to a trusted 24/7 emergency facility

Please note that we are not an emergency hospital. If your pet requires hospitalization longer than 24 hours or advanced emergency care, we will transfer your pet to a trusted 24/7 emergency facility.
